SUMMER CHESS CAMP
SESSION I BEGINS NEXT WEEK!

You are invited to enroll your child in Mister Omar's Chess Academy summer chess camp. The camp will be held for the second year at teh Emporium in Yellow Springs! Classes will be taught by Grand Instructor, Omar Durrani! The camp is intended for students entering grade K-8. Beginners as well as intermediateand advanced players are all welcome!

Chess is a great workout for mathematical muscles. Through chess kids learn problem solving skills, how to think ahead, and the evaluation of multiple alternatives and consequnces. They improve spatial reasoning, visual memory, and attention span while learning good judgement, reasoning power and self-confidence.

Classes will emphasize having fun while learning the numerous elements of chess. Students will also learn skills that can awaken a life-long passion for the game of chess. >more information

It's been an exciting year for Yellow Springs King's as we wrapped up a successful year with 2 team trophies at the Queen City Classic in Cincinnati! Our 3rd grade team, Zenya Hoff-Miyazaki, Sumayah Chappelle and Kai Maryama came in 4th place. And our 4th grade team consisting of Tyreese Benning, David Walker, Sulayman Chappelle and Nathan Bales came in 2nd place overall. Wow!

Yellow Springs has a lot of talented and gifted children and I attribute a lot of our success in the Queen City Classic to year round training and playing Chess!
